Because of this belief, our therapists are active runners, athletes, and triathletes who compete in a variety of events. Off the field and in the clinics, we work with athletes using manual therapy and modifying training to maintain performance levels during recovery. Along with physical therapy, we offer a variety of specialty programs to help you perform at your very best.
The Endurance Coaches at PTS Sports are some of the most highly trained and highly qualified individuals in the field holding certifications from USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, and the new Ironman University program. Our coaches also have a combined 40 years of experience working with athletes of all levels from professional to the beginner.
PTS Sports Coaching works with the athlete on a one to one basis providing weekly training programs that culminate in the peak race of the season. Athletes are monitored via daily data upload as well as in person training sessions.

Run Gait Analysis
Improper form is a leading cause of overuse injuries in runners. Using Dartfish motion capturing technology, PTS Sports coaches can identify biomechanical deficiencies and provide fix actions. These include ensuring the athlete is in the proper footwear, run drills and body position exercises, and in some cases referral for physical therapy.

A good bike fit is imperative for any cyclist. If the athlete has a biomechanical limiter due to a physical ailment, then a prescriptive fit using PTS Sports Retul bike fitting system is the best remedy. The Retul process consists of a physical evaluation, motion capturing technology and specialized software that computes the ideal position for the rider relative to his or her limitations. RMR/ Vo2 Max Testing

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) – Resting Metabolic Rate (sometimes referred to as Basil Metabolic Rate) is the amount of calories your body burns completely at rest over a 24 hour period. This is important as it establishes a baseline for you to plan daily calories consumption and adjust accordingly for weight loss or weight maintenance. The test consists of a fasted athlete breathing into a tube for a period of 10-18 minutes.
VO2 Max – VO2 Max is defined as the maximum uptake of oxygen measured in liters per kilogram of body weight. Generally Vo2 Max is largely a genetic trait and those with higher values tend to do better at endurance events. This test can be conducted on the treadmill or bike and consists of a rested athlete running/cycling for a period of time as the speed, incline, and resistance are raised. The test is over when the athlete can no longer continue or when Anaerobic Threshold (AT) is detected. This information is valuable to athletes who train with a heart rate monitor. The thresholds detected during this test will allow the athlete to accurately set and train in specific heart rate zones as well as associated calorie burn at each intensity. This information is important for those who wish to get the most “bang for their buck” when exercising.
