Denise graduated magna cum laude from the University of Evansville with a bachelor of science in physical therapy. In a career spanning over 30 years, Denise has developed specialized programs for the treatment of women’s health issues, especially breast cancer rehabilitation and the treatment of lymphedema and is a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT). In 1990, Denise developed the first breast cancer and lymphedema rehab program in the state of Indiana.
In 1996, Denise founded Excel Rehabilitation Services, a rehabilitation agency having 4 clinics throughout Indiana. Excel also provided contract services to The Women’s Hospital of Indianapolis for 12 years for patients in need of inpatient rehabilitation, including post breast surgery intervention. In 1997, she provided contract services to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN to develop and managed the first cancer and lymphedema program in that area. In 2001, Denise was voted as one of the top 40 entrepreneurs under the age of 40 in the Indianapolis area.
After selling her company in 2003, Denise remained on staff as the clinical operations director for over 7 clinics. In May, 2007, Denise formed the consulting and training company, Achieve Therapy Services, Inc. conducting an intensive lymphedema and breast cancer rehab training course for physical and occupational therapists. Denise joined Clarian North Medical Center (now known IU Health North) in 2009 as the supervisor of rehabilitation services and went on to establish the rehabilitation program at Schwarz Cancer Center on the campus of IU Health North Hospital as the lead oncology therapist.
Denise has recently joined the PT Solutions team in Indiana and is looking forward to expanding the therapy footprint in the state.
