Doug is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Mississippi Physical Therapy Association, and Orthopedic Section and Private Practice Section of the APTA. He opened his own private practice, Physical Therapy Center of Ocean Springs, in 1998 and began the WorkReady!™ Program, offering specialized work injury prevention and rehab services in 2012.
With his intensive training in orthopedics, industrial therapy, and manual therapy, he is a fellow to the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Therapists, one of the 220 in the United States. In April 2014, Doug was selected by Governor Phil Bryant and appointed to the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy.
Doug has served on the board of directors for the Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA, and Ocean Springs Rotary Club. He graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1989, then entered and successfully completed an 18-month Orthopedic Manual Therapy Residency.
Doug is on faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Physical Therapy, University of South Alabama, and Ohio University. He is a member of St. Alphonsus Church. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and boating.
