Megan received her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in health and rehabilitation sciences. She went on to earn her doctorate in occupational therapy from Huntington University. During this time, Megan developed a passion for ergonomics and became a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS).
Megan has a passion for helping patients with work-related injuries, conservative management of nerve related injuries (like carpal tunnel), and orthopedic injuries.
Megan prioritizes continuing her education to gather the most up-to-date knowledge on pertinent topics. She has especially enjoyed expanding her knowledge in orthotic fabrication, which can be used to treat numerous diagnoses both conservatively and after surgery. Megan has also attended orthopedic courses to learn about cutting-edge surgical techniques and treatment. She is a member of American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (NCOTA), and American Society of Hand Therapist (ASHT).
Megan’s goal for her patients is to increase their independence in activities they find most meaningful – this could be returning to work, being able to play with their grandchildren, or being able to get dressed each day.
Megan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, hiking, and exploring restaurants and coffee shops around Western North Carolina.
