PT Solutions Holds 6th Annual Evidence-Based Practice Symposium

PT Solutions clinicians gathered once again for the 6th Annual Clinical Symposium. PT Solutions uses this opportunity to advance the professional practice of physical therapy by focusing on clinical evidence for our treatments. This yearly symposium also supplements the ongoing clinical research, clinical residency/mentoring, and staff training that occurs throughout the year within the practice. This year the gathering is occurred in Destin, FL. Danny Mayhan, PT, ATC, is presiding over the event. Danny coordinated this clinical education and accreditation for the practices three states of operation in FL, GA, and AL. Danny Mayhan oversees the practice operation in Florida.
The speakers included Eric Robertson, PT, DPT, OCS, an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Dr. Robertson’s primary area of research is investigating the role of the hip in low back pain. Dr. Roberston also serves in the faculty of Evidence in Motion Residency and as public relations chair for the American Academy of Orthopeadic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) and the APTA’s Orthopaedic Section. Kornelius Poelstra, MD, Ph.D., is a practicing physician with Orthopaedic Associates in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Dr. Poelstra recently relocated from his postion at the University of Maryland. Dr. Poelstra received his Medical degree and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Dr. Poelstra’s research includes the investigation of novel therapeutics to prevent and improve treatment of infections associated with surgical procedures and implants. Dr. Poelstra treats both traumatic and degenerative/arthritic conditions using convention surgery, minimally-invasive procedures, and disc replacements. Quinn Milling, PT, DPT, OCS, ECS, ATC, serves as PT Solutions’ Chief Operating Officer. Quinn is board certified in Orthopaedic and Clinial Electrophysiology. Additionally, Dr. Millington is a certified Athletic Trainer. Dr. Millington teaches inside PT Solutions’ residency/mentoring program.
