PT Solutions 2013 Allatoona Triathlon

June 26, 2013

PT Solutions is a privately owned physical therapist practice with locations in Illinois, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky; on Sunday, June 23, PT Solutions held the third annual Allatoona Triathlon. The Allatoona Triathlon varies from other races because the course caters to a variety of participants: from race beginners to seasoned veterans.

The start of the race was held at Dallas Landing Park, in Acworth, Georgia. The first leg of the race began at 7:30 a.m. and involved a 500-meter swim. Participants transitioned from the swim portion and hopped on their bikes for an 18-mile cycle across a mixed terrain of flat sections and small, rolling hills. Finally, participants finished with a 5K run. Along with cheering spectators, athletes were greeted at the finish line in Historic Downtown Acworth by delicious offerings from Henry’s Louisiana Grill.

Attracting national attention in its third year, the PT Solutions Allatoona Sprint Triathlon nearly doubled in race participation, almost reaching race capacity. Dale Yake, CEO of PT Solutions and Founder of PTS Sports Triathlon Store, commented on the increase in race participation: “We understand that there are a number of races out there on any given weekend that people can choose from. Our goal is to give the race participant an experience that is second to none.”

With the sun rising on the Allatoona Triathlon, so did the temperature. The summer heat seemed to not be a factor for the top overall male and female winner. Male overall winner, Jeremy Sipos, finished in a blistering time of 1:14:30. Not to be outdone, two-time female overall winner, Megan Degan, crossed the finish line in an unbelievable time of 1:18:42– beating her 2012 time by over two minutes.

PT Solutions would like to extend a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to the athletes, PT Solutions’ staff, patients, and our volunteers. Giving back is of great importance to the Allatoona Triathlon. A portion of the proceeds from the Allatoona Triathlon will be donated to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Culture Link Charities.
