Get back to being UNSTOPPABLE today!
PT Solutions, in partnership with health care providers, is redefining the standard of care for postpartum women. By implementing this program backed by our own research we aim to effectively combat symptoms commonly described by women after giving birth, helping to prevent future musculoskeletal illness and future health care costs.
We’ve spent over a decade refining our evidence-based approach to treating this prevalent area of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. During the patient’s treatment, our skilled therapists will develop a non-invasive customized treatment plan using manual therapy, therapeutic exercise programs, aerobic conditioning, and more to help our patients overcome postpartum related issues and get back to their pre-pregnancy state.
Manual therapy is used to decrease pain and improve the mobility of patients experiencing discomfort and/or dysfunction related to pregnancy. Treatment of the low back and pelvic region includes spinal manipulation and/or mobilization techniques designed to help patients restore their functional movement. A focus on the hips, pelvis, and spine will improve overall ability to stabilize the pelvic floor during daily activities.
THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE PROGRAMS
Therapeutic exercise programs are developed and tailored to the patient’s specific limitations and goals. This program is designed to restore spinal and pelvic girdle health post pregnancy as well as prepare the body for potential future births. By addressing pain and impairments as soon as cleared for activity at postpartum follow up, we aim to prevent additional complications and increasing healthcare costs as a result.
PT Solutions follows significant and ongoing scientific evidence found in Clinical Guidelines, Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis, and Randomized Control Trials to guide our approach to physical therapy intervention for this condition. Research supports the notion that “educating women increases their awareness of correct movements and postures and, in conjunction with exercise therapy, helps to cope with and prevent worsening of back pain and discomfort1.”
We are committed to following research advancements for mechanical, radicular (sciatica), instability (spondylolisthesis), stenosis, and gynecological forms of low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction to continually improve our treatment methods.
